The statuette in the balcony version was produced and launched in honor of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the First Zionist Congress held in Basel, 1897.
A replica of the famous photograph from 1902, which was taken by the artist A.M. Lilain, in which Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl is seen overlooking the Rhine River from the balcony of the "Three Kings" hotel in the city of Basel, Switzerland, during his stay in the city for the Fifth Zionist Congress.
